Alienated Grandparents Anonymous (AGA) Canada is a peer-support group for grandparents and parents alienated by their children.
AGA was founded in 2011. Today, it has presence in 50 states in the USA and 19 countries worldwide. In Canada there are 5 Alliances. AGA's international headquarters is located in Naples, Florida (www.aga-fl.org).
AGA Alliances meet regularly, usually every 2 weeks. We focus on information, talking about and understanding estrangement, Grandparent Alienation Syndrome (GAS) and helping people cope with the unbearable pain and isolation.
We bring in knowledgeable speakers to address various aspects of Grandparent Alienation.
We discuss possible ways to try to resolve situations and bring alienated grandparents, parents and grandchildren together.
We also take time for ourselves to socialize and develop lasting friendships through pot luck suppers, BBQs and other events.
Since joining AGA, some of our members have reunited with their families. Others have renewed contact that was not there prior.
If you are an alienated grandparent or a parent alienated by adult children, we would love to have you join us.
